Flag Controversy[]
I've seen that the bigender flag used primarily on this article was created by someone who was abusive and transphobic. I don't think I can find any sources that back this up which fit the sourcing requirements, but I think if something can be found it should be mentioned and potentially an alternate flag (which some see as the primary one now) should be put as the primary flag. - So, this may be a thought to consider, a well-researched book I just got (The Queens' English) shows flags for many identities where there's general agreement, but does not put a flag for bigender. Looking other places, it seems like so many different flags have been proposed without any emerging as a widely-agreed flag, or people have asserted "this is the most common" without proof that it's commonly used. Maybe this is one of the articles that shouldn't have a flag in the infobox. Perhaps instead, a good photo or illustration representing bigender people? I will try and find reliable sources about the flag, but it might be a little hard. So far I've only found ones which don't fit the wiki's sourcing requirements, but if I can find something, I will try and include it on here. I think the only thing I have found so far that's not twitter or tumblr is this link: https://symbolsage.com/bi-gender-flag-explained/ but I don't really know much about the website and don't really think it would be considered a reliable source for this wiki.Birdkiller (talk) 15:48, 12 February 2022 (UTC)
- How does this sound: we remove the flags for now while the research is in progress, to ensure we aren't 1) using a random flag design not actually in use within the community, and 2) know for sure what's the history associated with particular flags?
