Habibi is a monthly dance party which takes place in New York City and caters primarily to people of Southwest Asian descent (including speakers of Arabic, Kurdish, Iranian and other languages). It has operated since 2002 and has been hosted at various dance clubs throughout the city, including Flamingo, Boom, the China Club, Club Duvet, Moomia (all in Manhattan) and Club Rush (in Chelsea). The party, which only skips a month during Ramadan, was organized by the Gay and Lesbian Arab Society but has continued onward despite the organization's hiatus.[1]
